Castles

In the vicinity you will find several castles and palaces worth visiting. The Gothic Střekov castle towers above the Elbe River in Ústí nad Labem. In addition, you can also visit the local zoological garden or Větruše chateau, popular for trips on its cable car.

The town of Děčín (Tetschen) with its large castle is located a bit further up the Elbe. Closer to Teplice, there is a castle in Duchcov (Dux) where Giacomo Casanova spent part of his life.

Střekov Duchcov

Near Teplice you will find a whole range of romantic ruins of medieval castles such as Rýzmburk castle near Osek, Sukoslav in Kostomlaty pod Milešovkou or Házmburk near Lovosice. In addition, you can find the ruins of Ostrý, Košťálov, Hrádek and Skalka castles in the Central Bohemian Uplands.
